2021 Summer Goal
Before the summer started, I promised myself a couple of things I would like to accomplish before school began:
- Get accepted to a coop position
- Transition from a SquareSpace website to a customized personal website with React
- Pursue at least 1 project idea
- Regularly blog
- Create at least 2 art pieces
- Improve my French fluency
This summer, I started a Coop position as a mentor with the K2I Academy at Lassonde School of Engineering. You can find documentation of what I have learned and accomplished here.
My second goal was something I had been meaning on working on but hadn't had the chance to do. So during the summer, I took some time and watched and followed along a Udemy React course while trying to modify it to fit this project. It took two failed projects, trial and error and asking for help but, it leads to this website.
My third goal is still in progress. It is an application that allows users to put all the links related to a given subject and share it. The links that the user has created can either hide or show the link and, it reflects the users who have access to only view the list of links. Here is where you can find more information.
Reflecting on my goals, I should have used the SMART Goal to create my list. By applying the SMART Goal to my fourth goal, I can remove it because my website is still under construction. And my last goal is hard to accomplish with little to no exposure to practice speaking French.
In conclusion, although I did not complete all my goals, I am still proud of what I have learned and accomplished throughout this summer. Because all in all, I am much smarter and educated than I was before June.
